YOUR FAMILY’S INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Clear information about the data that helps your family’s devices work together.

Who we are

ScreenBreak is operated by Maverick Enterprise. This policy describes how ScreenBreak handles information when parents and caregivers set up accounts, pair devices, manage screen-time routines, or contact support. For privacy questions, contact support@screenbreakapp.com.

Account and family information

When you create a parent account, we process your email address, authentication credentials, account identifiers, and verification status. We also store household membership, caregiver roles, and invitation details so authorized adults can access the appropriate family. Authentication is handled through Supabase; passwords are not displayed to other family members.

Device settings and activity

We process device and installation identifiers, device names, pairing information, optional profile photos, selected-app restriction tokens, schedules, bedtime settings, break tasks, and other settings you save. Devices report protection status, command acknowledgements, timing information, and last-contact times. Daily summaries can include time allowances granted and completed breaks. Time granted is not a measurement of time spent using other apps. We use this information to apply your settings, synchronize paired devices, deliver commands, and help troubleshoot problems.

Apple Screen Time and camera access

ScreenBreak uses Apple’s FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks for local restrictions. Apple represents app and category selections with protected tokens; these selection records may be saved and synchronized to apply your choices. ScreenBreak does not collect the contents of other apps, messages, browsing history, or passwords used in other apps. The camera is used, with permission, to scan pairing QR codes. Pairing codes and identifiers are processed to connect devices; the scanning camera feed is not uploaded by ScreenBreak.

Optional device location

If location sharing is enabled and the device grants permission, ScreenBreak can send its latest available coordinates, accuracy, and capture time to the authorized parent or caregiver. This may be precise location. It is used to show the controlled device’s location, not for advertising. ScreenBreak does not provide a continuous route history. You can turn off location sharing in ScreenBreak or revoke location permission in the device’s Settings.

Notifications, emails, and support

We process Apple push-notification tokens to notify devices that commands or updates are available. We use email addresses to send verification, password-reset, and family-invitation messages. If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you choose to send. Our hosting and delivery providers may also process technical connection information, such as IP addresses, timestamps, and delivery or error logs, to operate and secure the service.

How information is shared

Family information is shared with adults authorized to access that household. Service providers process information to operate ScreenBreak: Supabase for accounts, stored records, and realtime synchronization; Apple for Screen Time services, CloudKit where used, push notifications, and App Store purchases; Railway for the push-delivery service; Resend for account emails; and Cloudflare for domain and support-email routing. Information is not made public through the family dashboard. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to investigate abuse or protect the service and its users.

Advertising and purchases

ScreenBreak does not use third-party advertising, sell personal information, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you purchase an App Store subscription, Apple processes payment. ScreenBreak uses purchase and entitlement information to enable subscribed features; it does not receive your full payment-card details.

Retention and deletion

Account and family records are kept while needed to provide the service. Unpairing removes a device’s access to the family, but is not the same as deleting every stored record: some settings and device records may remain for recovery, repair, or local enforcement. In Family account, choose Delete parent account to request deletion through the app. Deleting an owner account removes its owned households and associated cloud settings and access; deleting a member account removes that member’s access rather than another parent’s household. Device installation records, local device settings, provider backups, and operational logs may remain separately. Contact support to request review or deletion of remaining personal data. We may need to verify that you are authorized before fulfilling a request. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple subscription or automatically remove local Screen Time protection.

Your choices and children’s information

ScreenBreak is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or authorized guardian. Controlled devices do not need a child email account to pair. A parent can review settings, manage family access, unpair devices, revoke optional permissions, and request access, correction, or deletion of family information by contacting support. Do not submit unnecessary sensitive information in device names, photos, tasks, or support messages. If you believe information about a child has been provided without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Security and processing locations

ScreenBreak uses authenticated connections and access controls to limit access to family records. No service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Do not share passwords or active pairing and invitation codes with anyone you do not want to authorize.

Updates and contact

We may update this policy as ScreenBreak changes. For privacy questions or requests, email support@screenbreakapp.com.
